I don’t know what caused you to choose that gorgeous Hodler painting (On Lake Geneva) for your return to Life and Errors, but it’s part of the Barrett Collection here in Dallas and is even more spectacular in person.
Beth, the artist (as Molly notes) is Ferdinand Hodler. The piece, owned by a Dallas collector, was included in an exhibition at the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth in 2009. It's gorgeous in real life.
If you're fan of Hodler's colors and composition (which I am), you can see how he might have influenced Wayne Theibaud (whom I'm also a fan of).

Hi Molly,
Lovely to hear your voice again.
I was wondering about the artwork you used at the top of your post. Who is the artist?
PS Congrats on Thelma!
